And summer came in its full glory when it was cool and even cold just a few days back. I guess somehow this links singapore and boston together.

Improvisation Workshop

Posted on June 15th, 2007 in Boston Stories

It might be kinda strange to some of you that we have to attend an improvisation workshop even though we are making games. Well actually it is very relevant, this approach is very much from a psychological perspective to help us in our whole design process, which is very good I must say. It was fun but i prob did some of the most embarrassing stuff i ever did. Like doing a random impromptu skit , just talking cock. I actually made people laugh. Gosh i’m proud of myself lol.

It was quite tiring though , guess jetlag is not fully gone yet.

Cool day

Posted on June 13th, 2007 in Boston Stories

Well so much for summer. It’s been a rather cold day , kinda strange but i absolutely loved it. One thing about the people here which I am very much impressed with is how they emphasise on a healthy lifestyle. Everyday, there would be so many people running around the charles river, day and night and even on such a cold day like it is right now. I am honestly very impressed and singaporeans should really try to be like them and not just hide in the gym whole day long. And i think alot of them is there to pose anyway. I’ve been trying to adjust to the climate here and its cool so far. Just that my lips are kinda dry and still a little jet lag but Im good.

America!!!

Posted on June 12th, 2007 in Boston stories

After what seems to be a never ending and grueling 20 plus hours halfway round the world flight, it was finally over. Yes . Before I go on about Boston, let me just talk briefly about some of the cultural differences between us and america. One of the first things that I noticed about americans was the way things were done. For them it’s very normal to say things in your face and expect you to take the seemingly harsh words but really , it’s normal to them. Another thing i’ve come to notice is the independent go get it yourself spirit. people here are used to and expects you to get your own things done as well. Thats kinda nice though, i think.

Anyway Cambridge in boston( where im staying) is such a lovely town! It’s so not the typical american town and there are alot of great buildings from the british colonial eras. They are just awesome really. I was walking around town so much just to explore the place. There are loads more to explore though, maybe harvard square today. I was fortunate enough to get a window view and charles river is right in front of my dormitory so the view is absolutely great.

Everyones just nice here. This town is kinda geeky though, I dont see any cool looking people around. Everyone looks intellectual and educated. Which is good. Mit’s campus is really massive and it spreads throughout cambridge, kinda random. But we love it nonetheless. Right im really exhausted today so i’m not going to write too much.
